We have passed the Piazzo Quattro Canti in Palermo several times on each visit so far, but only now did we notice, almost by chance, that there is a magnificent church behind the facade of one of the houses!

The Chiesa San Giuseppe dei Teatini is probably not one of Palermo's most famous highlights - at least, we haven't seen it in any guidebook yet. Nevertheless, the church interior, supported by enormous marble columns, is more than impressive, with its special lighting and colors ranging from blue to brown, richly decorated with frescoes, paintings, and stucco. From the roof, you have a magnificent view over Palermo and of the church tower, which is covered in colorful ceramics.
