For us, Casa America is more than just a house - it's the place of our dreams, an adventure, an immersion into a strange yet so familiar world!
At the end of 2023, we purchased a holiday home in the small, authentic fishing village of Porticello , near Palermo. Join us on our journey from renovation to vacation rental and discover the surrounding area with its many sights, rich history, and culinary highlights .
Casa America had been empty for over 10 years; it had to be awakened from its deep sleep!
May we introduce the Casa America team – Milena and her husband Max, along with their parents Ulrike and Dirk. In October 2023, we visited the property together for the first time and found we had every reason to toast with this magnificent view from our future rooftop terrace!
In mid-July 2025, the time had come! Dirk and Max drove from Karlsruhe to Sicily in their small truck, and for example, the dining room furniture of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother moved into the attic with the wonderful sea view. There's still a lot to do, but we've come a big step closer to our dream!
