Casa America is more than a house for us - it's the place of our dreams, an adventure, an immersion into a foreign yet so familiar world!
In the small, authentic fishing village of Porticello, near Palermo , we purchased a holiday home as a family project at the end of 2023. After more than two and a half years of exciting and demanding renovation and furnishing, Casa America shines in new splendor – and since summer 2026, we have been welcoming guests from all over the world to our two holiday apartments ! We are very much looking forward to gradually exploring the surrounding area with its many sights, wonderful nature, fascinating history, and rich culinary scene , and sharing it with you on this page.
We preserved the historic ceiling paintings and tiled floors from the building's construction in 2029 wherever possible and carefully restored them. All apartments have sea views on two sides. We transported some of the furniture from Germany to Sicily, but also found many pieces locally in antique shops or at flea markets .
Casa America had been empty for over 10 years; it had to be awakened from its deep sleep!
May we introduce the Casa America team – Milena and her husband Max, along with their parents Ulrike and Dirk. In October 2023, we visited the property together for the first time and found we had every reason to toast with this magnificent view from our future rooftop terrace!
In mid-July 2025, the time had come! Dirk and Max drove from Karlsruhe to Sicily in their small truck, and so, for example, the dining room furniture of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother moved into the attic with the wonderful sea view.
