After more than two years of loving renovation work, the holiday apartment on the first floor of Casa America is ready for guests - with sea views and tangible history!

The historic ceiling paintings were carefully restored, and the original floor tiles from 1929 have been completely preserved. A minor alteration to the floor plan allowed us to install a new bathroom with modern amenities. We transported some furniture by ferry from Germany to Sicily, while others were purchased new or discovered at Palermo's flea markets, such as the two chandeliers. We are delighted to present the result to you!

Like all three apartments, this one, which can accommodate up to four people, has sea views from the living room on two sides. There is a wraparound balcony accessible from all living areas except the small bedroom.

The apartment is equipped with a kitchenette. The main room is primarily a bright and open living space rather than a kitchen, so we've concealed the appliances in the furniture – a portable cooktop with space for two pots or pans and a microwave are located in the wall cabinets, which are color-coordinated with the walls. Dishes, a small coffee maker, and a large refrigerator for keeping drinks and food cool are provided, but there is no oven.

The master bedroom has a large double bed (160 cm wide), while the smaller bedroom has a smaller double bed (120 cm wide). Both bedrooms are equipped with summer and winter duvets and bed linen, ensuring comfort year-round.

Reading a book by the sea

The bathroom is brand new and features a shower and toilet area, separated by a door from the anteroom with a sink. It is equipped with a hairdryer, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and towels.

The balcony has seating and, as is typical for Sicily, clotheslines for drying clothes and swimwear in the warm air and sun of southern Italy.

Whether summer or winter : aside from the history embedded in the walls of Casa America, life in the charming fishing village of Porticello is simply relaxing for the soul, and the possibilities for activities are so diverse – from snorkeling or hiking in nature, watching sunsets in the neighboring village of Aspra, or enjoying cultural programs in the nearby metropolis of Palermo , to visiting villas in Bagheria . The picturesque coastal town of Cefalù is also always worth a visit!
