APARTMENT 1

It's done! Our two holiday apartments in Casa America are finished and furnished for holiday guests after two and a half years of renovation!

The raised ground floor formerly housed the formal dining room of the America family, who lived in the entire house. Due to a change in the floor plan, Apartment 1 now has its own modern bathroom and kitchen and can be booked as a separate holiday apartment via airbnb.com/h/casa-america-1 .

The apartment is ideal for one or two people; two more can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. As on all levels of Casa America, there are two views of the sea from the main living area.

Although the abundance of great restaurants always tempts you to eat in Porticello or Bagheria - the kitchen of the ground floor apartment is fully equipped with a stove, oven and dishwasher for cooking at home.

Apartment 1 offers space for two to a maximum of four people with a double bed and a sofa bed.

The living room of Apartment 1 was formerly used by the America family to receive their guests and clients.

The ceiling painting, dating from the building's construction in 1929 and which we were able to carefully restore, is decorated with sumptuous food. It reflects the wealth of the family, who, like other residents of Porticello , lived from fishing, but fished in the richer waters of Spain and Portugal and opened factories there, applying their knowledge of Sicilian salt preservation.

In the bedroom of the holiday apartment, a compass and a globe are presumably for the export business, even though the artist's geographical representation would hardly be suitable as a guide.

Apartment 1 on the raised ground floor has access to a small public square.
